A Sewer That Needed Three Different Solutions

This Windsor Hills home had deteriorating pipe in three distinct segments — and each required a different approach. The cast iron main underneath the foundation was leaking into the soil. The clay pipe across the front yard had insufficient slope for a pipe burst. The section running toward the street was still in acceptable condition but needed to be sealed.

Our technicians first cut a 3×3 access hole outside the front of the home to reach the cast iron inside the foundation and replaced 15 feet with new ABS. We then trenched 35 feet of front-yard clay, installed new ABS pipe with a cleanout at the home, and finally ran a CIPP liner from that point toward the street. One visit, three methods, one fully warranted sewer restoration.

Step 1 — Foundation Access

Cut access outside the foundation to reach the cast iron main

We opened a 3×3 hole in the soil outside the front of the home to access the cast iron pipe running inside the foundation. The failing 15-foot section was cut out and replaced with new ABS pipe, properly sloped and connected.

The front yard clay pipe had insufficient slope for a pipe burst — the old pipe's angle wouldn't allow the bursting head to track properly. We trenched the 35-foot run, excavated the old clay line, and installed new ABS pipe with correct slope throughout.

Install a new cleanout at the front of the home

A new cleanout was installed at the front of the home where the new ABS transitions toward the street. This provides permanent maintenance access to both the new ABS run and the lined section, without excavation, for the life of the system.

Line the remaining clay toward the street connection

The clay pipe running from the new cleanout toward the city connection was in sufficient structural condition to accept a liner.   Team Rooter is an honest company to do business!  They take care the job warranty without a question. Three years ago they repaired my sewer line with trenchless sewer pipe replacement.  Last weekend the sewer backup to bathroom again. Called their customer service, unfortunately all the serviceman are out at the time, I got a local plumber came right way to clean out the blockage.  Next day called Team Rooter reported the problem, a supervisor discuss the situation with me by phone and offered sending a technician to site to investigate.  Mr. James Craig came with Cam Video the next day found tree roots break into pipe through a coupler.   Team Rooter is an honest company to do business!  They take care the job warranty without a question. Three years ago they repaired my sewer line with trenchless sewer pipe replacement.  Last weekend the sewer backup to bathroom again. Called their customer service, unfortunately all the serviceman are out at the time, I got a local plumber came right way to clean out the blockage.  Next day called Team Rooter reported the problem, a supervisor discuss the situation with me by phone and offered sending a technician to site to investigate.  Mr. James Craig came with Cam Video the next day found tree roots break into pipe through a coupler.
