A Failing Water Manifold Rebuilt in Copper
The water manifold is the hub where the main incoming supply splits into the branch lines that serve the rest of a property. When that assembly starts to deteriorate, the symptoms show up everywhere at once — weeping fittings, valves that no longer shut cleanly, and pressure that never feels right. On this Oxnard property, the existing manifold had reached the end of its service life and needed to be replaced rather than patched again.

How We Got the Job Done
Step 1 — DIAGNOSIS
Inspecting the Manifold and Mapping the Branches
We started by inspecting the existing manifold, visible water lines, shutoff valves and connections, then traced the main incoming water line and identified which branch line each outlet fed. Existing deterioration in the surrounding plumbing was documented with photos before a single fitting came off.
Step 2 — SHUTDOWN
Isolating and Depressurizing the System
With the work area protected, we shut off the main water supply serving the property and drained the affected distribution system down to zero pressure. Taking the time to fully depressurize keeps the cutting clean and prevents water from finding its way into places nobody wants it.
Step 3 — REMOVAL
Cutting Out the Compromised Assembly

Step 4 — COPPER REBUILD

Joints were cut, cleaned and joined using approved methods for the application, and the layout was reconfigured for better spacing, cleaner organization and straightforward access down the road.
Step 5 — VALVES & TRANSITIONS
New Brass Shutoffs and PVC Reconnection
Each branch received a new full-port brass ball valve, oriented so the handles are easy to reach and operate. The existing exposed PVC branch lines were then reconnected to the copper manifold through approved copper-to-PVC transition fittings, with supports and clamps added where the piping needed them, and branch lines labeled where their destinations were confirmed.
Step 6 — TESTING
Pressure Test, Air Purge and Restoration
After joints cooled and cured, we slowly restored the water supply, purged air from the affected lines, cycled every new valve, and visually inspected each joint, fitting and transition under normal property pressure. Installation debris was cleared and the rebuilt manifold was left fully operational.
